In addition to working in information security for 35 years\, those services included being the co-founder and chair of one of the first cyber security clusters in the UK in 2014\, cofounder and chair of ‘Cyber Wales’ from 2016\, a not-for-profit umbrella organisation that supports the 12 cyber security clusters that now run in Wales. He was also co-founder of GlobalEPIC in 2017\, a global ecosystem of cyber ecosystems\, he became the UK representative of ECSO in 2019\, the European Cyber Security Organisation\, and co-founder of UKC3 in 2021\, a not-for-profit organisation that supports the 20+ cyber security clusters that now run across the UK\, with funding by the UK Government. \n  \n  \n \nDr Luca Arnaboldi\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAssistant Professor – School of Computer Science\nUniversity of Birmingham\n\n\n\n\nLuca Arnaboldi is an Assistant Professor at the University of Birmingham\, within the Centre for Security and Privacy. His research focus is cybersecurity\, AI and formal verification. He has published several papers\, both in the domain of AI solutions for security and security of AI systems. He was awarded his PhD at Newcastle University on the topic of improving explainability and adaptability of attack detection systems. His most recent work as a PDRA at the University of Edinburgh was on the topic of explainability and formal verification of security in AI; where he contributed with partner institutions on the topic of autonomous vehicle security\, formal verification of neural networks\, AI ethics\, security compliance\, and Natural Language Processing.

The main element of the session will provide an overview of how OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) techniques are able to deliver cost effective assurance around this Trust. It’s significance pivots on it’s ability to provide valuable insights without relying on secretive or covert sources – this transparent insight is theoretically available to anybody. Therefore any inconsistency between an entity’s published position and that view would very quickly erode trust. \nIn this session will see the use of some OSINT techniques\, so you can see what you can find out from your own digital footprint. \nWe will also be giving up to 30 attendees\, a free digital footprint for their organisation\, together with any breach data detected. This will be undertaken separately\, on a mutually agreeable date and time and not within the group session for obvious reasons. As you will see in the main session\, this does not require any intrusive agents to be installed\, it is data which can found somewhere on the Surface\, Deep\, or Dark webs. \nSpeakers:  \nMike Hughes  \nMike has been involved with ISACA for over 30 years at both the Local and International levels. This monthly session is for you. \nThe 2nd Friday of every Month we will have a networking meeting and a series of 3 x 20 minute (+ Q&A) cybersec updates from informed cybersec organsations and businesses. No commercial pitches – just interesting stuff for the cybersec community and those who want to keep their business cybersafe. \nStarts 8.45am for general intros of those on the call\, then 9am for the stimulating subject presentations for up to an 1.5 hours. We will email in the days before the meeting to give more detailed speaker info. \nBring your ideas\, thoughts and problems and lets discuss. However\, this event is not exclusive – anyone can attend to acquire knowledge and develop their expertise! \nYorkshire Cyber Security Cluster are excited to welcome Duncan Greaves\, Programme Leader for Cybersecurity MSc at the University of York\, who will cover dynamic capabilities in incident response. \nThis talk will look at how organisations enable agility in their cybersecurity incident response (IR) process by developing dynamic capabilities using real-time analytics (RTA).
