SUMMARY:ScotlandIS - Cyber Resilience: The Performance Impact of Stress in Cybersecurity
DESCRIPTION:Annabel Berry from Leading Cyber will discuss why managing mental wellbeing is fundamental to our overall cyber resilience. \nAs cybersecurity professionals\, we operate in a high-stakes environment where evolving threats and the responsibility of protecting critical systems demand constant vigilance. This relentless pressure\, coupled with the weight of potential consequences\, significantly erodes performance and compromises cyber resilience. \nThe 24/7 nature of our work\, driven by the fear of missing a critical threat or experiencing a major breach\, creates an overwhelming workload. This sustained stress directly impacts cognitive function\, which can lead to critical errors in judgment\, missed security indicators\, and an ongoing struggle to maintain focus and vigilance. Ultimately\, this diminishes individual and team effectiveness\, making us more vulnerable to cyberattacks. \nThis workshop will address these critical challenges\, emphasising why managing mental wellbeing is fundamental to our overall cyber resilience — at individual\, team\, and organisational levels. \nEvent Objectives: \n• Raise Awareness: Highlight the scale of mental health challenges in the industry and the psychosocial hazards which commonly cause stress at work. \n• Promote Self-Care: Equip participants with practical self-care strategies to enhance individual mental well-being and\, by extension\, performance. \n• Foster Team Support: Provide leaders with strategies to support team well?being\, strengthening collective resilience. \n• Reduce Stigma: Foster safe spaces for open discussion on mental health to reduce the stigma surrounding seeking help. \n• Industry Focus: Update on the work of the Mental Health in Cyber Security Foundation (MHinCS Foundation) and its Charter. \nRegister Here

SUMMARY:CyNam - 25.3 Breaking Point
DESCRIPTION:Join CyNam for their final headline event of the year\, apart of the ‘Secure the Future Series’. \nWe are fast approaching a breaking point. \nGeopolitical volatility\, systemic risk\, and technological escalation are reshaping the security environment\, and for the UK\, resilience is no longer a theoretical exercise. From sub-sea cable vulnerabilities to the increasing political viability of targeted sub-strategic weapons\, the world we operate in is becoming more unpredictable and more fragmented. For the first time in decades\, official language now reflects this reality: “radical uncertainty\,” “dangerous conditions\,” even “war fighter.” \nFor Gloucestershire’s cyber\, national security\, and defence communities\, these shifts are close to home. This region plays a critical role in shaping\, enabling\, and protecting national capability\, and that role is evolving fast. \nBreaking Point is a high-impact headline event that will bring together senior voices from government\, defence\, industry\, and academia to test the assumptions shaping our current approach to resilience. With a focus on real-world threats\, strategic posture\, and the technologies driving both disruption and defence\, we’ll ask: are our frameworks fit for a world where multiple crises could converge and where the old rules no longer apply? \nWho Should Attend: \nThis event is for professionals across the Gloucestershire cyber\, national security\, and defence communities\, from technical specialists and early-career talent to operational leaders\, policymakers\, and innovators. If you’re contributing to the UK’s security\, whether through code\, policy\, research\, or mission delivery\, this event is for you.
