Linda is also an experienced Commercial Director with a demonstrated history of working within the security technologies industry sector. \nShe is highly skilled in Negotiation\, Business Planning\, International Trade Networks\, International Business Development\, and Market Research. She is a strong information technology professional with a Postgrad Executive Diploma in Management from CIM. \n\n\n\nRichard Yorke\nManaging Director\, CyNam | Co-Founder\, UKC3 | Angel Investor \nRichard is one of the founding Directors of Cyber Cheltenham (CyNam)\, a Community Interest Company focused on the development and growth of the Cyber ecosystem in the Cheltenham and Gloucestershire region. \nRichard’s career in the Cyber and National Security industry spans over 15 years\, most recently as a business leader at CACI Ltd following their 2019 acquisition of Deep3 Software\, a software engineering company which he co-founded in 2014 and led as Director and CEO. \nUnder his leadership\, Deep3 grew successfully through the delivery of mission-critical data processing and analytics platforms for customers in the National Security\, Cyber and Law Enforcement sectors. \nPrior to founding Deep3\, Richard held positions at the Cabinet Office’s e-Government Unit delivering pan-government services such as the Government Gateway\, after which he worked for Atos as a Programme Manager responsible for the delivery of capability for customers in the National Security sector. \nAs a Cheltenham resident\, where he lives with his wife and two children\, Richard’s passion lies in supporting the development and growth of the thriving cyber community in Cheltenham\, Gloucestershire and the wider UK through collaboration\, innovation and knowledge exchange\, particularly where he can share his own experiences and learning with fellow entrepreneurs. He is also Co-founder of the UK Cyber Cluster Collaboration (UKC3)\, a national body representing UK based cyber clusters and focused on supporting their work to develop the sector.

During this event\, they will discuss the security and safety requirements of potential drone networks for the delivery of light cargo in cities. \nSurrey Cyber Security Cluster will delve into topics such as ethical considerations\, effective communication\, and appropriate scope definition. Attendees will gain a better understanding of how to conduct Red Teaming exercises with care and responsibility\, without compromising the integrity of the organisation they are working with. \nFeatured Presentation\nThe question of what resilience means to UAVs in urban airspace\, and the technological implications of this at design time\, is central to this talk. Darren asks: What happens when 5g fails\, and drones fall back on alternative communication methods to ensure their safe operation? \nDarren will give a guided tour through the concept of Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs)\, from his PhD work exploring the security issues of MANET routing and weak security assumptions made in the design of such protocols\, through to his current work identifying methods of securing such networks in practice. \nEvent Speaker\n \nDarren Hurley-Smith\nSenior Lecturer\nRoyal Holloway\, University of London\nDarren Hurley-Smith is a Senior Lecturer in Information Security with the Information Security Group\, Royal Holloway University of London. He received the B.Eng. (Hons) in Hardware and Software Engineering (2012)\, and a PhD. in Autonomous Systems Network Security (2015) from the University of Greenwich. Since then\, he has worked in a variety of security-related areas\, including RFID authentication\, random number generation\, and statistical testing. \nDarren is particularly interested in the impact of engineering and implementation choices on the security of everyday systems – particularly cutting-edge drone networks and autonomous vehicles. He is the Technical Operations Manager for Omnidrome – Royal Holloway’s dedicated cross-disciplinary drone lab. He is also a keen VHDL developer and enjoys reverse engineering random number generators and hardware-implemented cryptosystems. \n\nDr. Nick Reed \nFounder at Reed Mobility\, Chief Road Safety Adviser at National Highways\nDr Nick Reed is the founder of Reed Mobility\, an independent research consultancy on the future of mobility\, working across public\, private and academic sectors to deliver transport systems that are safe\, clean\, efficient\, ethical and equitable. \nHe has led numerous trials of self-driving vehicles in the UK and has advised the European Commission and UK government on automated vehicle regulations. \nIn November 2021\, he was appointed as the first ever Chief Road Safety Adviser to National Highways\, providing review and challenge to the organisation in its aim to deliver Vision Zero on the national strategic road network.
