Scotland IS: Digital Critical Friends Information Session

December 4 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

An information session about how the Digital Critical Friends initiative works.

Do you work in tech, are passionate about diversity and encouraging future generations into the industry?

This is a perfect opportunity to find out more about our Digital Critical Friends (DCF) programme and its partners, highlighting how you can get involved.

This initiative matches representatives from industry (the Digital Critical Friends) with secondary schools across Scotland, to support the decreasing number of Computing Science teachers and to inspire students with the vast opportunities available to them in technology careers.

Presentations will take place from ScotlandIS, STEM Ambassadors and Tech She Can about their parts in the programme, followed by the chance to ask questions.

Outline of topics that will be covered:

  • ScotlandIS – history of DCF, its purpose/aims, the role played
  • STEM Ambassadors – who they are and process of getting on board as a DCF
  • Tech She Can – Tech We Can resources and how they can be utilised and accessed

What will the audience learn or take away from the event?

  • What being a DCF involves, level of commitment required and the process covered in becoming one.

This is your chance to give back and help nurture the next generation!
