Cyber Access Network (CyberNorth)

The UK Cyber Security Council is keen to work with aspiring cyber professionals to help them access the industry. This includes giving them knowledge of networks and best practices that can support them in their careers, helping them to network with professionals and understanding the pathways into cyber and the benefits of professional registration.

To support the Council with this objective, CyberNorth will be running an on-line webinar on the 25th March.

We will host a webinar to introduce the North East’s aspiring cyber professionals to CyberNorth – the region’s cluster, and the employment opportunities within the region. This will also give them the opportunity to learn about professional registration.
The webinar will be marketed at the region’s five universities, giving us the opportunity to reach the 20,000 STEM students studying at these institutions

The 75 minute webinar will take the following format:

• • Introduction to CyberNorth and how the cluster can support students into the sector
  • Welcome from the UK Cyber Security Council talking about professionalisation and how you can achieve it
  • Panel discussion with three regional cyber security professionals (technical and non technical)
  • Break out rooms with cyber professionals and cyber ambassadors where students can have conversations and ask questions in smaller groups. Students can move between breakout rooms to meet with different cyber professionals
  • Introduction to the CyberNorth influencing the influencer careers portal with signposting resources to help get young people into cyber and case studies from cyber professionals
