Workshop on the Security and Privacy impact of IoT Home Adoption

Newcastle University, supported by PETRAS, is organising this workshop, with the intention of having discussion sessions/round tables with academic colleagues and user partners.

The PETRAS National Centre of Excellence exists to ensure that technological advances in the Internet of Things (IoT) are developed and applied in consumer and business contexts, safely and securely. We do this by considering social and technical issues relating to the cybersecurity of IoT devices, systems and networks.

The general presentation themes will be:

• • What are the aims of the NCSC CyberFirst programme for schools?

• • How a volunteer Cyber/STEM Ambassador can help and develop relationships with regional CyberFirst schools.

• • Presentation examples from an active STEM Ambassador on the rewarding aspects of participating, and the many ways in which to interact with, and support CyberFirst schools

• • Call-to-action on how to take the next steps to volunteer as a Cyber/STEM Ambassador
